Baxter's Corner Book Receives International Book Excellence Award

Literary Excellence Incorporated, founder and sponsor of the Book Excellence Awards, has announced that Baxter’s Corner Collection I book, What A Tree It Will Be!, is the winner of the 2018 Book Excellence Awards Competition in the category of Picture Book, ages 4-8.

What a Tree It Will Be! is a children’s book about an orangutan teacher who leads his class of diverse animal characters through the decoration of a Christmas tree and teaches them the valuable lesson of how important cooperation is in any endeavor. Knots, a recent recipient of the Creative Child Preferred Choice Award® and Gerome Sticks His Neck Out, which earned the prestigious Mom’s Choice Award® last year. 

In addition to the story, each Baxter’s Corner book provides a “Go Beyond” section that provides an added experience, complete with thought-provoking questions and fun learning activities.

Each Baxter’s Corner story illustrates a fundamental value, including compassion, respect, determination and resilience.

The Book Excellence Awards is an international book awards competition dedicated to providing authors and publishers with the opportunity to showcase their books on a global platform. The award-winning titles are chosen based on their design, layout, writing quality and overall market appeal.

Each book is designed and illustrated by Baxter’s Corner Managing Partner and Chief Crayon Mary Ellen Stottmann who started the Louisville-based company as part of her relationship with her grandson, Baxter, for whom the company is named.
